Best time to go to Barbados?

Well that is a trick question. Any time is the best time to visit Barbados! Nathan and I recently went back for the Crop Over celebration, and also our honeymoon, and let’s just say you should add it to your bucket list.

To experience the culture, craft and heritage that makes Barbados so special you should hit up the Bridgetown Market, Oistin’s Fish Fry, Holder’s Hill and Brighton’s Markets.

Nathan recommends taking the drive up to Cherry Hill to see one of the most amazing views on the island. Then continue up to the Morgan Lewis Windmill, St. Nicholas Abbey and Speightstown as they are all on the way.

Crop Over started as a celebration by slaves to commemorate the end of the sugar harvest. Although it is more commercialized in some aspects I will say the vibes and togetherness that I loved about my place of birth is still very much there. Coming into contact with people I have not seen for so long and too long, the smiles, music, oh gosh the food no words can really describe.

So I will not bore you with particulars, just view the slide show and see for yourself. Thanks to Nathan on some of the better pics 🙂 Click Here to view more of his stuff.
